Blues to flash the cash: Abramovich green lights spending spree
The Chelsea owner will also give some of the old guard another chance with Frank Lampard set to stay when his future looked in doubt
Roman Abramovich is ready to spend big this summer to build a new empire at Chelsea.
The Russian billionaire finally realised his European dream after the Blues delivered the Holy Grail of the Champions League.
But with his side finishing a staggering 25 points behind the runaway Manchester clubs in the Premier League, Abramovich is more determined than ever to put together a squad that can be champions of England as well as kings of Europe.

Roman Abramovich is right to not get too carried away with the two cup triumphs and instead focus on the long term changes that are needed at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have moved some way off the title chasing pack and as such the Russian billionaire appears keen to flex his financial muscles in order to make up that lost ground.
In the shake-up planned by the Blues owner, this source suggests that three senior first teamers will be axed whilst six big name additions are being targeted. More on them below.
Eden Hazard (Lille)
The Daily Mirror believes the Lille man is Roman Abramovich’s number one summer target but the problem is that a number of other Premier League sides have similar designs on the Belgian international playmaker. Could the fact that Chelsea are now Champions League title holders help the West London side secure the 21 year old Lille man? Quite possibly.
The talented starlet has bags of potential and has been in excellent form over the past two seasons and also adheres to the Russian owner’s policy of planning for the future, whilst also being ready to make an impact in the present.
