Mark Hughes will this summer make advances to lure Chelsea attacker Salomon Kalou to Loftus Road. The QPR boss is hoping to persuade the 26 year old Ivory Coast international to make the short move from Stamford Bridge with the promise of regular first team football that the former Feyenoord man has struggled to secure for a number of seasons.
Adaptable forward Kalou will be out of contract next month and fee to move where he pleases and is sure to be the subject of interest from a number of prospective suitors keen to snap up the experienced Chelsea man. Hughes is looking to bring in a number of additions when the transfer window re-opens as he looks to strengthen a squad that came perilously close to relegation last term.
Super Hoops owner Tony Fernandes will make significant funds available to Hughes in order to make such moves and as such QPR can offer Kalou a competitive salary that could help win the race to sign the Chelsea man.
Kalou racked up over 250 appearances for the Blues but is unlikely to be offered a new deal as Roman Abramovich conducts a min clear-out ahead of the appointment of a permanent successor to Andre Villas-Boas.
As well as reported interest from other Premier League sides including Arsenal & Liverpool, Ligue 1 big spenders PSG and Roma have been linked with moves to sign Kalou but a move to QPR may well be the most likely to lead to regular first team football.
