QPR LINE UP TOTTENHAM CROCK JERMAINE JENAS TO FILL JOEY BARTON’S BOOTS

QPR are lining up £4m Jermaine Jenas to replace shamed skipper Joey Barton.
Barton was hit with a 12-game ban by the FA on Wednesday after his red card disgrace at Manchester City.
The controversial midfielder will now miss the first three months of the next campaign.
With QPR looking into sacking Barton, boss Mark Hughes is ready to make a move for the Tottenham midfielder.

Mark Hughes will clearly need to look for a long term replacement for Joey Barton and Jermaine Jenas could be the ideal man for the job. The Tottenham man has suffered with injuries and loss of form but is still a player with a great deal of ability and perhaps the chance to re-ignite his career at Loftus Road will tempt the former England international.
Even if you take Joey Barton’s behaviour out of the equation the loss of a player for almost a third of the season due to suspension clearly means Mark Hughes will have to consider offloading the former Newcastle United and Man City midfielder, though whether there are interested parties ready to take a risk on the misfit is another matter.
Jenas was sent out on loan to Aston Villa last term but a ruptured achilles injury saw him out for six months before he had really got going at Villa Park. If QPR can land the experienced performer for just £4m then that may well represent a great bit of business.
