Ferguson weighing up move for Milan star Boateng in bid to boost midfield
Manchester United have been linked with a shock move for Kevin-Prince Boateng.
Sir Alex Ferguson is determined to land an attacking midfielder after missing out on Wesley Sneijder last summer, and is pushing hard to sign Shinji Kagawa and Eden Hazard.
But reports in Italy claim the Old Trafford boss could turn to AC Milan’s Boateng, who has impressed in Serie A since leaving Tottenham two years ago.
The San Siro leadership are deciding whether to offer Boateng a new deal or cash in to fund a bid for Santos’s promising Brazil playmaker Paulo Henrique Ganso.

This source sees a move for the AC Milan midfielder as a possible alternative to Eden Hazard and Shinji Kagawa and could well certainly end up a cheaper option to advances for the Lille youngster and maybe a more experienced alternative to Borussia Dortmund’s Japanese international and perhaps the German born Ghana international is keen to prove himself in the Premier League having failed to make an impact during his spell at Tottenham.
Kevin-Prince Boateng has come a long way since his failed stint at White Hart Lane, during which time the midfielder managed just seven Premier League starts before being farmed out on loan to Borussia Dortmund before moving to AC Milan, via a co-ownership deal with Genoa.
The intelligent attack minded midfielder played a key part in AC Milan’s title winning campaign of 2010/11 but found his chances to impress in 2011/12 reduced but it would still prove fairly surprising if San Siro boss Massimiliano Allegri opted to sell the 25 year old this summer.
