Twitter is abuzz with news that Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers has discussed the possibility of succeeding Kenny Dalglish as Liverpool boss whilst in talks with the club’s American owners.

Brendan Rodgers emerged as the new favourite for the Liverpool manager’s job as former frontrunner Roberto Martinez arrived back in Britain.

It had looked like Wigan boss Roberto Martinez was in the pole position to take the job and Latics chairman Dave Whelan had stated that an offer had been made to the Spaniard but now all roads appear to point towards Northern Irish manager Brendan Rodgers.
The former Chelsea youth team boss had average spells at Reading and Watford before hitting the big time with Swansea City. The 39 year old helped the Welsh side to the Premier League at the first time of asking and helped the Liberty Stadium side to a respectable 11th place finish this term with a win at home to Liverpool on the last day of the season.
