Shinji Kagawa close to £12m Manchester United move
Manchester United are closing in on the signing of Japan midfielder Shinji Kagawa after agreeing a deal in principle with his club Borussia Dortmund.
The 23-year-old has still to agree personal terms but United expect negotiations to progress smoothly.
The initial fee for Kagawa is in the region of £12m, rising to £17m depending on success and appearances.
“Some details are to be confirmed,” Dortmund director Michael Zorc said.

This could prove to be a very good bit of business by the Old Trafford club. If Sir Alex Ferguson can land a player of Shinji Kagawa’s obvious ability and potential for just £12m then in today’s transfer market that is a veritable bargain.
The 23 year old has spent two productive seasons at Borussia Dortmund, helping Jurgen Klopp’s side to back to back titles, having made an instant impact in Germany following his move from his native Japan. The Kobe born attacker will hope to adapt to life in the Premier League just as quickly.
Kagawa will add a much needed goal-scoring edge from Man United’s midfield, having netted 29 goals in two terms at Borussia Dortmund.
This source states that Man United tried hard to seal a deal to sign Eden Hazard but perhaps landing Kagawa for around a third of the price Chelsea have reportedly paid for the Lille youngster, will turn up to be a more cost effective purchase in the long run.
