Having landed Eden Hazard it appears that Chelsea are keen to repeat the trick and nab Crewe teenager Nick Powell from under Man United’s noses.
The Blues successfully lured 21 year old Belgian Hazard despite interest from Sir Alex Ferguson and owner Roman Abramovich will hope that the allure of being the reigning Champions League holders could help lure the highly rated English Under 18 international.
Powell has had an excellent breakthrough season at Crewe, netting 16 goals to help Steve Davis’s side to promotion to League One. The 18 year old is a product of the club’s famed academy and seemingly likely to leave for a Premier League club and the youngster now faces the tough choice of taking his pick of many prospective suitors.
