Huth or dare: Stoke star set for crunch talks over his future
Huth’s representatives are scheduled to meet the Potters’ top brass next week, with boss Tony Pulis keen to resolve the contract stand-off.
The defender has been in deal negotiations for most of the year but is yet to reach an agreement.
Everton and Sunderland are monitoring developments as the Germany international, a former Chelsea youth player, has only a year left on his current contract.
Pulis said: “We are desperately keen to try to get Robert sorted out. We’ve been talking to him for the last three months, but whatever happens we will not be trying to cash in on him.”

It’s not a big surprise that the likes of Everton and Sunderland would be interested in Stoke City centre back Robert Huth given the German’s consistent displays over the course of three seasons at the Britannia Stadium and Tony Pulis would do well to make sure the Potters cave in to the 27 year old’s demands.
Moves to both Goodison Park and the Stadium of Light could well be seen as a step up for the former Chelsea man and if the tough tackling defender feels he is not valued highly enough by Stoke City then he should indeed consider other offers.
Huth has racked up 130 appearances in three seasons at Stoke City, making him a virtual ever-present and a key member of Pulis’s defensively minded side and a player they can ill afford to lose.
The big towering defender spent five years at Chelsea before a move to Middlesbrough led Huth to Stoke City. Robert Hugh earned the last of his 19 German national team caps three years ago and may feel that a relatively high profile move could help him force his way back into Joachim Low’s reckoning.
