Manchester United are set for summer clear-out as Sir Alex Ferguson takes stock following a disappointing campaign that yielded no silverware.
The Old Trafford boss saw his side pipped to the Premier League post by local rivals Man City but perhaps more worryingly, dumped out of the Champions League at the group stage for only the second time in 15 seasons, as a result it is perhaps not hugely surprising that the Scot would consider offloading a number of his first team squad.
Ferguson has already offloaded Matty James and Ritchie de Laet to Leicester City after both failed to make the grade at Man United. The duo left for undisclosed fees last month and may well be joined by Oliver Norwood who has been informed he is heading for the exit despite impressing in a loan spell at Coventry City last season.
The 21 year old midfielder has been capped at international level for Northern Ireland but is yet to have played a single first team match for Man United.
Paul Pogba is also said to be on his way out after his Old Trafford contract officially comes to an end this month and it is then he is set to intention to move to Juventus despite United’s efforts to keep a player who has been in the senior squad.
