West Ham wait to pounce on Chelsea outcast Benayoun and free agent Yacob
Yossi Benayoun is expected to announce his departure from Chelsea this week, with West Ham, Ajax and Maccabi Haifa all keen.
The Israel midfielder, who spent almost all of last season on loan at Arsenal, posted on Twitter: ‘I hope I will have some news about my future soon.’

Given that Chelsea are unlikely to be after anything more than a nominal fee for Yossi Benayoun it would be a wise move for West Ham to consider making. The 32 year old Israeli international did well during his previous spell at Upton Park, where he spent two seasons prior to moving to Liverpool, and the attacking midfielder still has a lot to offer.
Benayoun spent a relatively successful season on loan at Arsenal last term but it seems that Arsene Wenger is unlikely to offer the veteran a permanent deal.
Yossi Benayoun would welcome any chance to remain the English top tier and clearly being based in London makes a move back to West Ham all the more likely.
