Roberto Mancini will this summer trim away a large chunk of his expansive Man City squad after being told by the owners of the Etihad Stadium side that he will not be given significant transfer funds until he cuts the club’s expenditure. With that in mind the Italian is ready to sell some of the club’s big earners as well as those who he feels have under-performed over the past twelve months.
Among the big earners who are set for the chop are Togo international Emmanuel Adebayor, who enjoyed a successful season on loan at Tottenham. Mancini is ready to accept reduced offers for the former Arsenal striker and the White Hart Lane side will have to hope that the big forward is ready to reduce his wage demands in order to complete a permanent move to North London.
Edin Dzeko has been linked with interest from a number of Bundesliga sides and Mancini has reportedly decided to stick with Carlos Tevez and offer Mario Balotelli his continued support despite a number of high profile incidents both on and off the field that left many to question his temperament and commitment to the Premier League title holders. This will leave the Italian ready to sell the Bosnian forward.
