Fulham have beaten off competition from Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United to complete the signing of wonderkid George Williams from MK Dons.
The 16-year-old striker was wanted by a host of Premier League clubs and discussed terms with Liverpool, United and Chelsea before deciding on a move to Craven Cottage. The youngster was said to be impressed by Fulham manager Martin Jol’s vision for the future of the West London club.
Williams became MK Dons youngest ever professional when he made his debut in the FA Cup victory over Nantwich Town aged 16 years, two months and five days on 12 November.
The Welsh under-17 international subsequently scored to make him the club’s youngest ever goalscorer.
He will go straight into Fulham’s academy ahead of the new season.
