Sky Sports understands that Queens Park Rangers are poised to sign Andrew Johnson on a free transfer.
Johnson is looking to sort out his future after his contract with Fulham expired and a number of clubs have been linked with a summer swoop.
Reading and West Ham are both believed to have been keeping tabs on the striker’s progress, while his agent indicated earlier this month that a move to the UAE might be an option.
But it is thought that QPR are in pole position to land Johnson and could be set to recruit the 31-year-old in the near future.

Of all the players currently out of contract and available on a free transfer deal there will be few as experienced and able as Andy Johnson and Mark Hughes will do well to bring in the former England international to help boost his attacking options.
The former Fulham man is very much a confidence player who scores goals in batches but when he is in the mood he is a very prolific marksman. Last term the 31 year old netted 11 goals in 24 starts and he is a player that Mark Hughes will know from his time at Craven Cottage.
Hughes will hope to be backed by QPR owner Tony Fernandes this summer so as to build a squad that can avoid a relegation battle this term.
