United will start the difficult business of reclaiming their Premier League crown with a trip to Goodison Park. Last season’s 4-4 draw with Everton, which fatally swung the title race in Manchester City’s favour, will doubtless still be fresh in United minds.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s side will face City on 8 December at the Etihad and at home on 6 April, desperate for revenge after last season’s 6-1 and 1-0 defeats at the hands of their neighbours.
Significantly, United are away in five out of six weekends following midweek Champions League group games, including clashes with Liverpool and Chelsea, while City are at home in five out of their six.
The Red Devils face Chelsea again at Old Trafford in their third to last match, before finishing at home to Swansea and away to West Brom on 19 May.
