Chelsea legend lined-up for London return.
Gianfranco Zola could be set for a dramatic return to management with Championship side Watford.
The former Chelsea star and West Ham boss is being line-up for the top job at Vicarage Road when prospective new owner Gino Pozzo completes his takeover of the north-west Londoners.
The Pozzo family already own Serie A side Udinese and Spanish outfit Granada and have agreed a deal in principle to buy former-Premier League side Watford.
Pozzo admitted that Zola is being considered for the role refused to admit that the 45-year-old would replace current Hornets boss Sean Dyche.
“There are contacts with Watford, so we’ll see,” Pozzo told gazzetta.it. “Gianfranco Zola enters in the project, but it’s too early to talk about it.”
Dyche is a popular figure at Watford after guiding the club to 11th in Championship in his debut season, despite operating off one of the smallest budgets in the league.
