Wantaway Vela fears Arsenal could price him out of move to Real Sociedad
Carlos Vela has pleaded with Arsenal to let him join Real Sociedad.
The Mexican forward, 23, wants to join the Spanish side after enjoyed a successful loan period last season.
But Real Sociedad have baulked at the Gunners’ £6m asking price.
Vela’s agent, Eduardo Hernandez, told the Daily Mirror: ‘He is very happy at Sociedad, he wants to stay there, but Arsenal are a complicated club to deal with.’

Whilst it’s understandable that Carlos Vela would want to move on to help get his career back on track having stagnated at the Emirates Stadium, his gripe should actually be with Real Sociedad. If the La Liga side wants the Mexican’s service so badly then they should pay what is a perfectly reasonable asking price.
23 year old Vela finished last term as Sociedad’s top scorer, helping the Basque side to their highest top flight finish in almost a decade. A valuation of £6m is a very fair one in today’s transfer market and if the La Liga side is not willing to pay then that’s their concern and shouldn’t in anyway be seen as the North London side trying to price the player out of a move.
Arsenal may well look to trim their squad heavily this summer. Having brought in Lukas Podolski, and seemingly moved close to agreeing a deal to sign Olivier Giroud whilst also trying to garner funds to offer Robin Van Persie an improved deal, there may be a need to make funds from player sales.
However Wenger and his Gunners board are not likely to just accept any offers that arise. A similar situation will probably occur in relation to Danish forward Nicklas Bendtner. A player who is low down the Arsenal pecking order but still worth a decent sum, expect any prospective suitors to make low offers in the hope of landing their target.
Andrei Arshavin may well look to stay with Zenit, again Arsenal will look to make the most out of a player who cost a club record £15m but failed to deliver. The Emirates Stadium club operates in a frugal manner but is as a result one of the most financially healthy clubs in Europe, don’t expect them to accept meek offers even if they are for players who are very much ‘surplus to requirements’.
