England’s tormentor set for Goodison Park move.
Interesting. Respected journalist Phil McNulty, chief football correspondent at the BBC, has taken to twitter to pass on the news that Olof Melberg may be in line for a move to Everton.
The Swedish centre-half is currently with Olympiacos in Greece and last played in the Premier League for Aston Villa in 2008.
The 34-year-old is no spring chicken but judging by his two goals against England at Euro 2012, neither is he ready for the scrap heap just yet.
Still, Everton have Johnny Heitinga, Phil Jagielka and Sylvan Distin at centre-half, plus promising youngster Shane Duffy waiting in the wings, so it’s hard to imagine where Melberg would fit in at Goodison Park.
