The Blues may well have feared this could happen. Having allowed Chris Hughton to leave St Andrews’ after just one season in charge the former Newcastle United boss is now looking to lure three of his former charges to Carrow Road.
Birmingham City president Carson Yeung should probably have looked to have ironed out some sort of deal in Hughton’s exit agreement that would have prevented him landing any of the Championship outfit’s top performers.
Hughton will be looking to land impressive young keeper Butland to help keep his Norwich City keepers on their toes, the teenager was named as part of Roy Hodgson’s Euro 2012 squad but he failed to see a minute of action but nonetheless has a bright future.
Curtis Davies is an experienced defender who could offer some extra cover at the back and Chris Burke can provide a goal-threat and assist making abilities from out wide. The Scot was a virtual ever present under Hughton last term, netting 14 goals as he helped the Midlands side to the play-offs.
