Etihad Stadium side look to snap up Nou Camp star.
MANCHESTER CITY will be keeping a close eye on developments at Barcelona, as they look to step up their interest in Dani Alves.
The Brazil international has reportedly angered club bosses after taking part in a friendly without permission from Barca’s medical staff.
Alves played 25 minutes of the match, which also featured team-mate Lionel Messi, despite having only recently undergone surgery on a fractured collarbone.
And now the Catalan giants are considering disciplining the 29-year-old, says Spanish newspaper Marca.

Roberto Mancini has been linked with a move for Dani Alves for some time and perhaps this dispute between player and club hands Man City a lifeline. The Brazilian international may also feel that the appointment of Tito Vilanova may well be the opportune time to consider leaving the Nou Camp.
The attack minded right back has been incredibly successful during the four seasons he has spent at the Catalan club and may feel that he has achieved all he can at Barcelona.
However Mancini does have two quality right backs at his disposal, Micah Richards and Pablo Zabaleta and one wonders where interest in the 29 year old will leave them. Both players performed excellent last term and are both younger than Alves so such an acquisition will probably result in one of the pair seeking a move away from Man City.
Roberto Mancini managed to lure Yaya Toure from Barcelona and may well be on course to do likewise with Alves this summer.
