Frenchman set for fourth London club.
William Gallas is set to join West Ham United after Tottenham agreed to let to stopper leave White Hart Lane.
The Hammers will be the 34-year-old’s fourth London club, having previously played for Chelsea and Arsenal as well as Spurs.
Gallas is set to sign a one-year deal with Sam Allardyce’s side.
Despite being without a manager, Spurs are busy offloading their deadwood and have already allowed veteran centre-half Ryan Nelsen to join QPR, while Vedran Corluka is set to follow compatriot Niko Kranjcar in moving to Eastern Europe.
Spurs are close to bringing in Jan Vertonghen from Ajax and will be boosted by the return of promising youngster Steven Caulker from his loan spell at Swansea. But given the fitness concerns of Ledley King and Michael Dawson, the decision to allow Gallas to leave seems a strange one.
The Frenchman will become West Ham’s fourth signing of the summer, after Wigan’s Mohamed Diame, Stephan Henderson and Jussi Jaskelainen.
