Russian’s father admits London interest.
The father of Russian star Alan Dzagoev has admitted that Chelsea and Tottenham have made enquiries about his son, according to the Daily Mail.
Russian star Dzagoev currently plays for CSKA Moscow but caught the eye at Euro 2012, scoring three times in the group stage.
The 22-year-old has been with CSKA since 2008, making over 100 appearances and scoring 27 times. He could be set to become boss-in-waiting Andre Villas-Boas’ first signings at White Hart Lane.
“I don’t know if he will stay at CSKA,” said his father, Tariel. “There are offers – from Spurs and other foreign clubs.”
Dzagoev senior also admitted that Chelsea were interested but hinted he was not in favour of such a move.
“I tell him [Alan] not to hurry. Yury Zhirkov ran off to Chelsea and sat on the bench,” he added.
Dzagoev would mostly likely replace Luka Modrid at Spurs, with the Croatian set to join Real Madrid this summer.
