Craven Cottage side keen on Israeli international.
Fulham boss Martin Jol is readying a move for Chelsea midfielder Yossi Benayoun. The Craven Cottage boss is keen to add strength in depth to his squad and is an admirer of the Israeli international who may well be a player Roberto Di Matteo is willing to offload this summer.
The 32 year old spent last season on loan at Arsenal and did relatively well as an impact player called upon when injuries and average form dictated. However Arsene Wenger appears to have no plans to sign the former West Ham & Liverpool man on a permanent basis so there Jol could well land the adaptable midfielder for a nominal fee.
Benayoun has made just 1 Premier League start for Chelsea since his £5.5m move from Liverpool two years ago and given the number of Blues stars ahead of him in the pecking order a move to Fulham where first team football could be more realistic could well appeal to the utility man.
Yossi Benayoun can play in a number of roles across the midfield as well as in the hole behind the attack and given that Jol has already seen Danny Murphy move to Blackburn Rovers and numerous suitors reportedly chasing the likes of Clint Dempsey and Moussa Dembele a move for the Chelsea man could be a cost effective signing to consider.
