Blues want big bucks for England star.Birmingham City have slapped a £7 million price tag on England goalkeeper Jack Butland.
The 19-year-old is wanted by both Tottenham and Southampton after being named as a surprise inclusion in Roy Hodgson’s Euro 2012 England squad.
Butland is also expected to be Great Britain’s number one at the up-coming Olympic Games after he was named in Stuart Pearce’s squad earlier this week.
Despite his international recognition, the young custodian is yet to make a senior appearance for the Blues and boasts just 12 first team starts on loan at League Two Cheltenham Town last season.
Butland is desperate to make the step-up to the Premier League and was reportedly unhappy when Birmingham rejected a £5 million offer from Saints last month.
The south-coast club are unwilling to increase their offer but Spurs are ready to move for the youngster and have offered Birmingham to chance to keep him on loan for a season.
Tottenham are unwilling to go as high as £7 million, however, and hope cash-strapped City will relax their stance later in the transfer window.
The north London club see Butland as a long-term replacement for Brad Friedel, who is 41.
