Uruguayan veteran makes Brazilian switch.
Brazilian club Internacional have announced the capture of Inter’s departing striker Diego Forlan.
The forward is understood to have rescinded his contract earlier today with the Italian club and Internacional have wasted no time in making his signing official.
Forlan is currently in Milan, but will arrive in Porto Alegre on Saturday at 14.43 local time at the Salgado Filho airport.
He’ll be unveiled to the media later that day.
The club say that the Uruguayan, 33, has already passed a medical and has agreed a contract with the outfit until July 2015.

Diego Forlan moved to Inter Milan following his exploits at the 2010 World Cup when he finished joint top scorer, however his time at the San Siro came exactly as the Italian giants were continuing to go through a very difficult period and as such the Uruguayan hasn’t really made the impact he would’ve hoped.
A move to Brazil may well help to resurrect his club career and Forlan’s departure appears to be part of a bigger Inter Milan plan to reverse the ageing nature of their squad. Maicon has been linked with a move away from the club and centre back Lucio has left for Juventus.
Forlan managed just two goals in 20 matches for the Nerazzurri, albeit most of the former Atletico Madrid striker’s appearances came from the bench.
