Mourinho eyes Dane.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rogers may be on the verge of making his first signing at Anfield but the Northern Irishman faces a battle to hold on to centre-back Daniel Agger.
Real Madrid are interested in the Danish stopper and the Spanish giants’ boss Jose Mourinho could use his good relationship with Rogers to help seal a deal, reports the Daily Mail.
Agger enjoyed a fine campaign last season and continued his good form for Denmark at Euro 2012.
The 27-year-old has been with Liverpool since 2006 and is no hurry to leave but it is understood that he would jump at the chance to join Real should the two clubs agree a fee.
Rodgers enjoys a healthy relationship with Mourinho, who the former Swansea boss worked under at Chelsea but he is reluctant to lose Agger, particularly with defensive partner Martin Skrtl a reported target for Manchester City.
But Real are desperate for reinforcements at centre-half and could be prepare to pay up to £16 million for the former Brondby star.
