Nou Camp side want to bring Stamford Bridge youngster back to Catalonia.
Barcelona are lining up a move to re-sign young Chelsea midfielder Oriol Romeu according to Sport.es.
Pep Guardiola’s replacement Tito Vilanova is apparently looking to nab Athletic Bilbao’s Javi Martinez but if he fails to snap up the Spanish international then he will look to lure Romeu back to Barcelona just a year after he left for West London.
The Spanish Under 21 international had something of a patchy first season at Stamford Bridge but certainly showed potential but was used far more frequently by former boss Andre Villas-Boas than by Roberto Di Matteo during his interim stint in charge.
Romeu may well be tempted by a return to Barcelona but one wonders if Chelsea would be open to such a deal given that Roman Abramovich and technical director Michael Emanelo appear to have an eye to the future in relation to recent signings. Bolton have been linked with a move to take the defensive midfielder on loan this coming season and that may be a more realistic move for the 20 year old.
