Everton pipped to striker.
Fulham have beaten Everton to the signing of Wigan’s out-of-contract striker Hugo Rodallega, reports the Daily Mirror.
The Columbian is set the leave the DW this summer after failing to agree a new deal with the Lancashire club and will now sign a three-year deal with the west Londoners.
Everton had been eyeing Rodallega as competition for new striker Steven Naismith but the 26-year-old has opted to join Fulham boss Martin Jol at Craven Cottage.
Jol saw his move to secure Russian forward Pavel Pogrebnyak collapse with the striker joining Reading instead, so the Dutchman will be relieved not to have missed out on another target.
Rodellega is Wigan’s all-time Premier League top scorer with a whopping 24 goals but sat out much of last season, with injuries and loss of form restricting his appearances.
