Reds close in on starlet.
Liverpool are close to completing a deal for out-of-contract Monaco youngster Amadou Diallo, reports talkSPORT.
The 18-year-old forward is set to quit the Ligue 2 outfit after refusing to sign a new deal with the club last month.
A host of Premier League clubs including Arsenal, Fulham and Newcastle have all expressed an interest in Diallo, who can play out wide or through the middle, but Liverpool look to won the race for his signature after he agreed to a week-long trial at Anfield.
Diallo is a graduate of the famous Clairefontaine academy in France, which has helped produce a number of Ligue 1 and Premier League regulars in recent seasons, including Newcastle duo Hatem Ben Arfa and Gabriel Obertan.
Diallo is said to be a boyhood Liverpool fan and would jump at the chance to join the club’s reserve side ahead of the new season.
