Five Samba stars strongly linked with moves to the English top tier.
ANDRE VILLAS-BOAS is ready to battle Chelsea for the signature of Brazil striker Hulk, according to reports.
Having been appointed as the new Tottenham boss yesterday, Villas-Boas only has a few weeks to re-shape his squad before the Premier League season kicks off.
And he will look to splash the cash in a bid to get the White Hart Lane faithful back on side.
Villas-Boas knows Hulk well, having managed him during his time at Porto.
The Portuguese coach was also rumoured to be keen on bringing the 25-year-old with him to Stamford Bridge last summer, after he was appointed Chelsea boss.
The Blues are reported to still retain an interest in £35m-rated hit-man, as they look for a replacement to Didier Drogba up-front.

Tottenham could well do with more attacking options having seen Robbie Keane, Peter Crouch and Roman Pavlyuchenko all leave White Hart Lane over the past couple of seasons and seemingly chairman Daniel Levy is not ready to give in to Emmanuel Adebayor’s wage demands which mean that the Man City man will not complete a permanent move to the North London club.
A move for Hulk will show real ambition on behalf of Spurs and Andre Villas-Boas will have been informed of what kind of budget he will have to work with prior to his joining the club to act as successor to Harry Redknapp.
Clearly Villas-Boas knows Hulk well from his all conquering season as boss of the Portuguese club, who he helped to a domestic double and a Europa League triumph all in one term, which led to his brief spell in charge of the Blues.
Jermain Defoe is now Tottenham’s only recognised senior striker and clearly this is a situation that the club can not operate with but even then a £35m move for Brazilian international Hulk would be a big statement of intent from Levy and one that could help to prevent any of his top talents leaving this summer.
