Full-back on Mourinho’s radar.
Real Madrid are lining up a sensational £20 million bid for Manchester City full-back Micah Richards, reports the Daily Star.
The La Liga giants have already contacted the Premier League Champions and are confident of securing a a deal for the 24-year-old.
Real boss Jose Mourinho is a huge admirer of Richards and tried to sign the right-back when he was manager of Chelsea. The Portuguese tactician has placed the powerful defender top of his summer shopping list, along with Tottenham playmaker Luka Modric.
England reject Richards is currently training with Team GB ahead of the London 2012 Olympics, after reportedly refusing to be on stand-by for Roy Hodgson’s Euro 2012 squad.
Richards is one of the few home-grown talents remaining in the star-studded City squad and played a key part in last season’s historic title win, playing 29 times in the League.
But he has a mixed relationship with boss Roberto Mancini, with the Italian seeming not to trust the young star in the biggest games.
Richards is thought to be keen on a move to the Bernebeu but Real may have to up their £20 million bid to persuade City to do business.
