Former AC Milan and Chelsea striker wanted by struggling Chinese Super League side.
Former Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko could become the latest global icon to join the Chinese football revolution as Qingdao Jonoon prepare to make an eye-watering offer to the former Ukraine international.
Shevchenko, 35, currently has one year left on his contract at Dynamo Kyiv and, according to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Qingdao are preparing to offer the forward £11.5m to spend the next two seasons in China.
Veteran striker Andriy Shevchenko showed at the Euro 2012 finals that he still has something in the tank and it appears that Chinese side Qingdao Jonoon are keen to follow Shanghai Shenhua’s lead and offer the Ukrainian big money to make the move to China.
Shevchenko would join fellow ex-Blues Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba in the Chinese Super League and will clearly be paid handsomely to do so.
The 35 year old is in his second spell at Dynamo Kiev but may be swayed to leave the Ukraine for China. However it is worth noting that suitors Qingdao Jonoon currently sit in the relegation zone halfway through the current campaign. The Shandong based club has scored just ten goals in 17 matches so that would go someway to explaining their interest in the ageing striker.
