Emirates Stadium side receive opening offers for Dutch goal machine.
Arsenal have dismissed Manchester United’s bid for Robin van Persie.
Offers from both Manchester City and Juventus also fall short of the Gunners’ valuation of the 28-year-old.
It is understood City, United and Juve tabled offers in the region of £15m for the Netherlands striker, who has a year left on his contract, but Arsenal are keen to hold out for a fee of £25-30m.

So it begins.
£15m seems a fairly derisory sum for a player of Robin Van Persie’s obvious ability, even though he only has a year to run on his current deal. These opening offers are probably just the relevant club’s way of notifying the Gunners skipper that they are interested in acquiring his services.
Arsene Wenger is said to be in talks with the 28 year old, whom he hopes to persuade to put pen to paper on a new deal. It seems unlikely that Arsenal would elect to allow the striker’s deal to run down and risk losing the player for nothing next summer. Therefore the options appear to be either, get a new deal signed, or sell to the highest bidder.
Van Persie netted 37 goals in all competitions last term, the best return of an eight year spell at the North London club that have garnered just a solitary FA Cup triumph in terms of tangible quantifiable success.
Man City may well be able to offer Van Persie the best salary and clearly the Etihad Stadium side ‘have previous’ when it comes to signing Gunners stars, having brought in Samir Nasri, Emmanuel Adebayor, Kolo Toure and Gael Clichy in recent seasons.
Sir Alex Ferguson may well feel his Old Trafford side could do with an attacking boost with Michael Owen having been released and Dimitar Berbatov said to be wanting an exit and Javier Hernandez suffering a second season slump.
Juventus are probably at present the outside bet of the three named by this source. Even though Antonio Conte’s side clinched the Serie A title without losing a game the Turin side could well do with a proven goalscorer but one wonders if Van Persie would look for a move to Italy.
Perhaps Barcelona will make an offer?
