Spaniard completes Liberty Stadium move.
Swansea City have announced the signing of midfielder Michu from Rayo Vallecano, subject to international clearance.
Michu, 26, has agreed a three-year contract with Swansea, with the transfer fee thought to be around €2 million.
The Spaniard spent one season at Vallecano after joining from Celta Vigo in 2011, impressing as he scored 15 goals in 37 league starts.
Michael Laudrup has completed something of a masterstroke with this acquisition.
Michu had the standout season of his career thus far last term, notching up 15 goals in his debut season at Rayo Vallecano, this despite the newly Madrid based promoted side finishing in 15th place in La Liga.
Michael Laudrup may well see Michu as an alternative to Gylfi Sigurdsson, who the Swans failed to secure on a permanent basis when the Icelandic international opted to join Tottenham. Some sources believe such a move could well pave the way for classy midfielder Joe Allen to leave the Liberty Stadium.
Prior to his move to Vallecano Michu plied his trade at Oviedo and Celta Vigo.
New Swans boss Michael Laudrup has already snapped up Chico and Jonathan de Guzman for £2 million and on a season-long loan respectively.
