Norweigan makes Dutch switch.
Manchester City midfielder Omar Elabdellaoui has joined Feyenoord on a season-long loan.
The 20-year-old is yet to make an appearance for the Premier League Champions but is highly rated at the Etihad and signed a new two-year deal earlier this year.
Elabdellaoui can play on either wing or as an attacking playmaker behind the forwards and spent part of last season on loan at Norweigan club Stromsgodset, where he made 12 appearances scoring once.
The Norway under-21 international will be hoping to emulate team-mate John Guidetti, who caught the attention of Europe during an impressive loan spell at De Kuip in 2010/11.
“It’s an exciting challenge for me and it gives me the opportunity to play regular first-team football that will obviously benefit me and hopefully City as well in the long-term,” Elabdellaoui told City’s official website.
The closest Elabdellaoui has come to a first team appearance for City was as an unused substitute in a 2010 Europa League game against Juventus.
