La Liga outfit rule out selling star man to Gunners.
Malaga have squashed Arsenal’s hopes of signing winger Santi Cazorla, insisting the Spanish international is not for sale.
Cazorla reportedly wants to leave Malaga after a bitter pay dispute with the club and is interested in joining Arsene Wenger’s side.
Malaga are in the midst of a bizarre financial crisis and several senior players are eyeing exits, with Cazorla reportedly among those who are owed wages.
Despite their wealthy Qatari owners, the Spaniards have a lengthy tax bill and several outstanding debts – including £3 million owed to Villareal as part of Cazorla’s £18 million move last summer.
Arsenal were reportedly ready to take advantage of the situation to bring the talented playmaker to north London but Malaga maintain they are not interested in selling the 27-year-old.
“Cazorla is not for sale, we do not talk about rumours in the press and our plans are not to even negotiate his exit,” a source told Sky Sports.
The La Liga club, who will compete in the Champions League this season after finishing fourth last campaign, expect to have their financial problems resolved soon.
