Lyon président says he is “99 per cent sure” Lloris will stay in France.
Olympic Lyonnais have told Tottenham target Hugo Lloris that they will make a final decision on his future by this Thursday.
The custodian has been linked with north London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham, with Spurs thought to be closing in on a £15 million deal for the 25-year-old.
But Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has said that he is “99 per cent sure” the France captain will remain at Stade Gerland and the club will make a final decision on his future by 29 July.
“We have not received any official offers for Lloris,” Aulas was quoted as saying by France Football.
“I will see Hugo again on Thursday when I arrive in New York. We will make a final decision [on his future] after the Trophee des champions [Lyon’s Supercup match with Montpellier on 28 July].”
Lloris is the French number one and captain of his country. Tottenham need a new ‘keeper, with Brad Friedel, 41, and Carlo Cudicini, 38, in the twilight of their careers and Heurelho Gomes untrusted.
