Agent admits that Lucas negotiations are on-going.
Lucas Moura’s agent has performed a u-turn and says he has been told to keep negotiating with Manchester United, despite claiming on Tuesday that the deal was off.
United have been strongly linked with the Sao Paulo wonderkid but are reportedly unwilling to meet the Brazilian club’s asking price of around £30 million.
The Red Devils are thought to have seen a £25.6 million bid rejected, with Lucas’ agent Wagner Ribeiro claiming that they will not increase their offer.
Ribeiro, however, has now admitted that he has been instructed to keep negotiating with the Premier League giants but insisted that his 19-year-old client would be happy to remain at Sao Paulo.
“The player is my boss, I always talk to him,” Ribeiro said, according to Sky Sports.
“He determines what I do, my objectives. If he says that he doesn’t want to leave Sao Paulo, I won’t even listen to the offer.
“He told me to keep negotiating when I talked about Manchester United’s interest.
“It’s a great offer. If it was an unrefusable one, he would leave, but he is happy at Sao Paulo too. If he stays there, life goes on.”
