Andrea Mancini, the son of Manchester City boss Roberto, has completed a move to Spanish outfit Real Valladolid B.
Mancini junior was released by City at the end of last season after failing to make a single appearance for the Blues.
The young forward had previously spent time under his father at Inter Milan and was also on the books at Bologna, before arriving with Roberto in Manchester in November 2010.
The 19-year-old did get a taste of English senior football with League One Oldham, but managed just five outings before being sent on loan to Italian side Fano last season.
He admitted he had no qualms about joining Valladolid.
“When my agent told me about this opportunity, I did not have to think much,” he is quoted as saying in Spanish newspaper Marca
“I knew at Manchester City that I would have few opportunities. In Valladolid I think I will have more opportunities and I will work for it.
Andrea also admitted there were pros and cons to having such an illustrious father.
“It’s something I do not mind, it has it’s good things and bad things,” he added.
“But I am working hard to be myself and at the end of my career I can compare what my father and I have done.”
