Duo among clubs interested in centre-back.
Liverpool and Arsenal are heading a host of clubs interested in PSG captain Mamadou Sakho.
The powerful French international has been told he can leave PSG after the mega-bucks Parisiens completed the signing of Milan stopper Thiago Silva.
Centre-back Sakho is one of the favourite sons of the club after joining aged just six but, despite his position as captain, Sakho fallen out of favour under current boss Carlo Ancelotti.
The 22-year-old revealed earlier this month that he would leave Paris if the club signed a new centre-back and with a £35 million deal for Silva complete, the 6’2″ defender’s time appears to be up.
He said: “If a defender comes, I’ll do anything to leave because I have to think about my future. I will be open to proposals from clubs willing to give me playing time and allow me to continue my progress.”
Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle are all reportedly interested in Sakho and are believed to have contacted PSG about a potential deal, reports the Daily Mail.
Sahko is rated as one of the most promising defenders in European football and has been on Gunners boss Arsene Wenger’s radar for some time.
Liverpool, meanwhile, are reportedly monitoring Sakho’s situation because their own centre-back Daniel Agger is being eyed by Premier League Champions Man City.
