Welsh striker could return to boyhood club.
Liverpool are considering allowing Team GB star Craig Bellamy to return to his boyhood club Cardiff, reports the Times.
The journeyman striker spent the season before last on loan at the Championship club and was eyeing a permanent move before re-joining Liverpool from Manchester City last summer.
Bellamy has reportedly told the Anfield club that he would like to be allowed to discuss a move back to Wales.
The 33-year-old is currently on Olympic duty with Team GB but it is thought that he will have talks with Cardiff boss Malky McKay after the conclusion of the Games.
Bellamy can boast Newcastle, Blackburn, West Ham, Norwich and Coventry amongst his former clubs but grew up following the Bluebirds and is understood to want to finish his career in Wales.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is reluctant to lose Bellamy but understands the forward’s desire to return to the Cardiff City Stadium, where he scored 11 goals in 35 appearances whilst on loan.
