Brazilian’s agent claims he is in touch with north Londoners.
Julio Cesar’s agent claims Tottenham Hotspur are among a number of clubs interested in signing the Inter Milan goalkeeper.
Cesar is set to leave the San Siro this summer after the Nerazzuri spent £10 million on Udinese stopper Samir Handanovic, who is expected to be number one for the coming season.
The Brazilian has been with Inter since 2005, making over 300 appearances for the club.
In 2009, he was described by former Italy goalkeeping Gianluca Pagiluca as the finest custodian in the world but the 32-year-old has become disillusioned with Inter’s lack of faith in his abilities.
His agent, Josias Cardoso, has claimed that Spurs, who have been strongly linked with French number one Hugo Lloris, are one of the clubs interested in his 32-year-old client.
“Now he remains at Inter Milan, he doesn’t want to go to Brazil and the market is just closed there,” Cardoso told Tuttosport.
“Some clubs indeed contacted us, but we asked them to contact Inter Milan, the club that own his rights. There is nothing certain yet.
“There are talks with Tottenham, but the English club has not yet made official steps. ”
A fake Facebook account linked with Julio Cesar suggested that he had agreed to leave Inter, but the player was quick to deny this.
He said: “All I can say is that I have not issued any statement regarding my future. I also deny the statement posted on a Facebook account isn’t actually mine.
“If I have to communicate something to the fans, I will do it in person as I have always done.”
Tottenham are in need of goalkeeper reinforcements, with Brad Friedel, 41, and Carlo Cudicini, 38, in the twilight of their careers and Brazilian Heurelho Gomes untrusted and set to leave the club.
