Bernabeu side make fresh bid for White Hart Lane star.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has issued a final ultimatum to Tottenham over Luka Modric.
The Spanish champions, who previously refused to pay more than €35m euros – which is £27.7m at current exchange rates – for Modric, are now prepared to go to £30m, Perez says.
But that is not sufficient to rescue the Croatia midfielder still in limbo, because Spurs are refusing to budge on their £40m valuation.

Daniel Levy has some serious thinking to do. Whilst he may well have a price in his mind, a price he is willing to sell 26 year old Luka Modric for, if that figure isn’t reached he doesn’t want his White Hart Lane side to be saddled with an unhappy player who could spread discontent in the dressing room.
The Croatian international clearly wants to leave and his antics, including failing to turn up back for pre-season on time, have not gone down well with the North London club.
On the face of it £30m seems a fairly decent fee and clearly Andre Villas-Boas would need time and funds to bring in a suitable replacement for the talented midfielder and therefore as the transfer window nears it’s conclusion there is a chance that some last minute haggling may well take place.
One does have to wonder just how Modric would fit into Jose Mourinho’s midfield given that he would be battling the likes of Xabi Alonso, Mesut Ozil, Kaka, Nuri Sahin and Esteban Granero for two spots in the Real Madrid starting eleven.
