50. Helder Postiga (Porto to Tottenham, £6.5m – 2003)
“He comes from Portugal; He hates the Arsenal.” Spurs fans certainly took to the Portuguese forward but he did not take the Premier League, managing just one goal in 19 league appearances. Annoyingly, he has become a decent international striker with a fondness for scoring against England at major tournaments.
