United miss out on Brazilian wonder kid.
Manchester United have missed out on the signing of Brazilian sensation Lucas Moura after PSG completed a £35m for the 19-year-old.
Lucas will make the move to Paris is January 2013 after his current club Sao Paulo’s Copa Libertadores campaign.
United have been linked with the winger all summer but baulked at Sao Paulo’s £35 million valuation and their highest bid of £27.5 million was rejected by the Brazilian outfit.
The Ligue 1 club have already signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva from AC Milan and Ezequiel Lavezzi from Napoli, with Lucas’ acquisition taking their summer spending to over £120 million.
PSG said in a statement: “Paris Saint-Germain and Sao Paulo FC have reached today an agreement for the definitive transfer of Lucas Rodriguez Moura Da Silva.
“The player and Paris Saint-Germain have also signed an agreement from January 2013 to July 2017.
“The player will join Paris Saint-Germain and his new teammates in January 2013 for the second half of the season 2012/2013.
“By signing a young talent of the quality of Lucas Rodriguez Moura Da Silva, Paris Saint-Germain is already preparing the future.”
