Bellamy set to return to Wales.
Liverpool and Team GB forward Craig Bellamy is set to snub a move to QPR to return to his native Wales with Cardiff City.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that the veteran forward is in talks with his home two club, where he spent a season on loan from Manchester City in 2010/11.
“We have been in talks with him and Cardiff,” said Rodgers, reports London 24.
“I had a really good meeting with Craig before I moved up here.
“He is a big Liverpool supporter but I also understand his thinking. He is 33 and has travelled around the country all his life, so there are compassionate reasons.
“We will look at it but we will wish him all the best and move forward.”
Journeyman Bellamy, who counts Newcastle United, West Ham and Blackburn Rovers among his numerous former employers is also wanted by compatriot Mark Hughes, who managed the winger at City.
But the west Londoners are set to miss on the ageing star, whose desire to be close to his family means he is unlikely to opt to remain in the Premier League with the Hoops.
