Michael Owen: Premier League clubs consider ex-Man Utd striker
Several Premier League clubs are interested in signing former Manchester United striker Michael Owen, according to his agent.
Stoke City are understood to be one of them, but a clutch of teams believe the out-of-contract 32-year-old can still deliver at the top level.
Owen was released by United this summer after three seasons at Old Trafford.

If indeed, for arguments sake, Michael Owen has several interested Premier League parties why then does his agent feel the need to advertise this information? What’s the purpose?
Apparently Stoke City are interested in the 32 year old, however we are moving towards the end of the pre-season period and as yet the Potters haven’t made the free agent an offer, why?
Could it be that perhaps there are no solid offers on the table and this is just Michael Owen’s agent’s way of trying to scare prospective interested parties into action?
Clearly taking a chance on the 32 year old could be a costly exercise, unless of course the former Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle United and Man United man signs a ‘pay as you play’ type of deal. It’s true that if fit Michael Owen still has something to offer a top tier side but that’s a pretty massive IF.
