Silva to join lowly Spanish outfit.
Arsenal teen Wellington Silva has joined Spanish Segunda Division club Ponferradina on a season-long loan deal.
The Brazilian youngster joined the Gunners from Fluminense in 2011 but is yet to feature for Arsene Wenger’s side.
The 19-year-old has already spent time on loan at Spanish outfits Levante and Alcoyano since arriving in north London but has failed to impress in the Spanish top flight, reports talkSPORT.
Wenger was reportedly keen to offload the Brazilian permanently but it appears Silva will be given a final chance to prove his credentials elsewhere.
Silva can play as a winger or second striker but has seen his chances for a place in the Gunners first-team further limited by the arrivals of Santi Cazorla and Lukas Podolski this summer.
The Emirates Stadium club have reportedly established a strategic partnership with Ponferradina and the north Londoners are likely to send more young talents on loan to the Spanish second tier in coming seasons.
