Lazio left-back joins City.
Norwich have completed the signing of former Manchester City left-back Javier Garrido on a season-long loan from Lazio.
The 27-year-old has spent two seasons with the Serie A outfit, after joining from City in 2010.
The Canaries have the option of extending the loan beyond the end of the season, although it is unclear whether the deal includes an option to buy.
Garrido, who played 49 times for City from 2007, is CIty manager Chris Hughton’s fifth signing of the summer and replaces full-back Adam Drury, who joined Leeds United last month.
“When my agent told me I had the opportunity to come back to England, I didn’t have to think too much about it, it was an easy decision and I think it will be a great experience,” the Spaniard told Norwich’s official website.
“I was here in the Premier League a few years ago, then I decided to move to Italy to try an new experience.
“But when you don’t play as much as you can, you have to decide to keep going, and when Norwich asked me to come back to the Premier League, I wanted to, and it’s good to be here.”
Garrido is expected to go straight into Hughton’s squad for Saturday’s Premier League opener with Fulham and he told Norwich fans to expect some robust displays this season.
“I am a technical player,” added Garrido. “But when the ball is there I can make the tackle too.
“I know what the fans like – and they also like players to be tough and aggressive. I will do my best for the shirt.”
