Chelsea new boys Eden Hazard and Oscar will be eager to make an instant impact following their moves to the Premier League but the DW Stadium isn’t always the easiest journey to make.
It will be interesting to see if Roberto Martinez opts to name Victor Moses in his starting eleven given the constant speculation about the youngster’s potential move to Chelsea. The Latics boss hasn’t brought in many additions this summer but will have on loan Arsenal youngster Ryo Miyaichi to call upon.
Chelsea have been looking to bring in some extra firepower but as yet have not signed a new striker so Fernando Torres will have to up his game to help prove Roberto Di Matteo that he is worthy of a regular first team spot and his goal at the Community Shield match against Man City may settle some early season nerves.
Wigan won the last four home games of the previous campaign, including victories over Man United and Newcastle United, and Martinez will hope to keep that run going today.
