Stamford Bridge look to complete long running transfer saga.
Victor Moses next on Chelsea wish list as Eden Hazard pulls the strings to overcome Wigan challenge
Roberto Di Matteo was thrilled with the debut of £32 million midfielder Eden Hazard in Sunday’s comfortable 2-0 win but has not ruled out adding Wigan striker Victor Moses to his squad by the end of the week.
Both Hazard and Moses were acclaimed by the visiting Chelsea supporters as the European champions started their campaign in style. The Wigan winger was serenaded with choruses of “We’ll see you next week” and his manager Roberto
Martínez accepted the player could go if a £9?million valuation was met.

Victor Moses was fairly impressive for Wigan as they took on a Chelsea side who raced into an early two goal lead and it must have been a fairly unnerving experience to line up against the side who so clearly wishes to sign you. Roberto Martinez seems resigned to losing the Nigerian international and in many ways wish the deal was done and dusted so that the distraction was removed.
The Latics boss has a ready made replacement in the form of Arsenal’s Ryo Miyaichi, who is on a season long loan deal at the DW Stadium.
Chelsea have already forked out over £60m to bring in top notch trio Oscar, Marko Marin and Eden Hazard as well as his younger brother Thorgan so a £9m bid for the Wigan Athletic youngster shouldn’t be beyond Roman Abramovich’s budget and having already tried and failed with two bids it is abundantly clear that Roberto Di Matteo’s side want the former Crystal Palace man.
